Garden Savings FCU is merging Pinnacle FCU into its membership.

We are excited to announce that, following the Special Meeting of Members of Pinnacle Federal Credit Union on December 4, 2024, the merger between Garden Savings Federal Credit Union and Pinnacle Federal Credit Union has been approved. This merger will take effect on January 1, 2025, and the systems conversion is scheduled for May 1, 2025.

The following Frequently Asked Questions are intended specifically for Pinnacle Federal Credit Union members seeking updates about their accounts. These FAQs do not pertain to memberships or accounts held with Garden Savings Federal Credit Union. We encourage you to review this information to stay informed during this transition.

GENERAL FAQs

Why are Pinnacle FCU and Garden Savings FCU Merging?

With the combined strength of both Pinnacle FCU and Garden Savings FCU, we will be able to create a strategic partnership that will expand our shared history of people helping people. With the combined efforts of both credit unions, we will be able to provide additional branch locations, extend products and services, and more robust offerings. 

What does the merger mean to Pinnacle members?

The merger between Pinnacle FCU and Garden Savings FCU will provide additional opportunities to achieve more positive member impact and value to Pinnacle's membership.

  • Expanded Member Access: After the system conversion, Pinnacle FCU members will be able to access their accounts at any of Garden Savings’ four (4) locations and ATMs; in addition, the two Pinnacle FCU branches will remain open.
  • Same Knowledgeable and Friendly Staff: Pinnacle FCU team members will become part of the Garden Savings team and enjoy enhanced employee benefits.
  • Enhanced Product and Services: This merger enables the credit union to offer even more competitive deposit and loan rates. 
  • More Responsive to Growing Financial Needs: By merging, we’re ensuring that we can continue to meet the financial needs of our members in a highly competitive financial service industry.

When will the merger take place?

The system conversion is scheduled for May 1, 2025, with further service details to follow.

 

Will my Pinnacle accounts continue to be federally insured?

Yes, your savings will continue to be federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration, a U.S. Government Agency, up to at least $250,000. Garden Savings FCU also provides members with additional deposit insurance. Members’ accounts will be insured for up to an additional $250,000 with coverage by Excess Share Insurance Corporation (ESI), a licensed insurance company, for a combined coverage of up to $500,000.

 

Will the Pinnacle name change to Garden Savings FCU?

The financial merger between Pinnacle and Garden Savings is effective January 1, 2025. However, you won’t see Pinnacle’s name officially change to Garden Savings FCU on things like signage, member’s checks, debit cards, etc., until the system conversion is complete sometime in 2025. We will communicate this to members, including details on how this impacts your accounts, closer to that date.

ATM/DEBIT CARDS

When will I receive my new card?

Your new Garden Savings ATM/Debit Card were mailed on April 28, 2025. Delivery typically takes up to 7 business days and should arrive on or about May 4, 2025.

When is the last day I can use my Pinnacle FCU Debit Card?

Your Pinnacle FCU ATM/Debit Card can be used until May 4, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

When can I start using my NEW Garden Savings ATM/Debit Card?

You can activate your new Garden Savings ATM/Debit Card on May 5, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM. You can activate your Debit Card or reset your PIN by contacting 1.833.992.1395

What do I do with my old card?

Your Pinnacle FCU card will no longer be active after May 5, 2025. You may destroy the card or bring it to your local branch to be securely disposed of.

What if I have automatic payments on my ATM/Debit Card?

If you have recurring payments, such as utilities, gym membership, or subscriptions, they will not transfer to your new card. We encourage you to update the payment information with your new card details to ensure uninterrupted service.

What if I haven't received my new debit card?

Thank you for your patience while we send your cards to the address we have on file. In the meantime, you can access your funds through ACH transfers or checks. You can also visit our branches for cash withdrawals. If you have not received your ATM/Debit card by May 12th, please contact us, and we will expedite a new card for you.

CHECK/ACH SERVICES

What if I have direct deposit or automatic payments?

Don't worry—your direct deposits and automatic payments will continue to be processed on your new Garden Savings account without interruption. We encourage you to update these accounts with your new Garden Savings account information to help ensure there are no issues in the future.

Where will I locate my new account information?

You can find your new account number and details in the Garden Savings Online Banking or Mobile Application. To retrieve this information, select the product name and click on the "Account Details" hyperlink. This will allow you to view your ACH number, which is your account number for ACH payments, check orders, and direct deposits.

Can I continue to use my old checks?

Your checks from Pinnacle FCU will still be accepted on your new account, so feel free to use them until they are depleted. To order your first box of checks from Garden Savings FCU, just contact our call center or visit a branch.

What will happen to the checks I wrote out that haven't been posted to my PFCU account?

No need to worry. Garden Savings will process those checks on your new account until further notice.

DIGITAL/ONLINE BANKING

Can I still access Pinnacle's Online Banking/Mobile Banking App?

Starting May 1, 2025, you will have access to Garden Savings FCU's online banking and mobile app. If you previously had online banking with Pinnacle, please log in for the first time using a browser or the desktop version of our online banking. You will need your Pinnacle username and a temporary password, which is the last six digits of your Social Security Number (SSN).

After logging in, you will need to update your password. When you reach the Multi-Factor Authentication step, where it prompts you for your email, please select "Add a phone number" and enter your mobile phone number. This will allow you to receive a text message with a verification code. Completing this step will ensure that you have access to our mobile app in the future.

Will I need to set up my recurring transfers?

Your recurring transfers will automatically be set up on your new Garden Savings Online Banking.

How can I download the Garden Savings Mobile App?

To view our Digital Banking Services page, please click the link below. Alternatively, you can visit your mobile app store and search for "Garden Savings Federal Credit Union." If you are logging in for the first time, remember to do so through a web browser to avoid any issues with accessing the mobile app.

BILL PAY

How do I access bill pay?

Just like your PFCU Bill Pay, you can access your new Bill Pay through Online Banking.

Can I add a new bill to be paid?

Starting May 1, 2025, you can add or make changes to any of your existing payees on the new Garden Savings bill pay.

Will my scheduled payments be processed?

After May 1, 2025, scheduled payments will be processed by your new bill pay provided through Garden Savings FCU.

Will my payees and/or recurring payments be transferred to the new system?

Yes, all of your bills, including scheduled and recurring payments, will be automatically transferred to the Garden Savings Bill Pay system. You will also have access to the last six months of payment history.

Will I be able to see my transaction history before May 1, 2025?  

No, we did not transfer any transaction history prior to May 1, 2025. We have mailed April statements to all Pinnacle members, even those who opted for E-Statements. Additionally, we will upload up to two years of statement documents to the E-Statement portal for your convenience.

LOAN PAYMENTS

First Mortgage Payments

  • Will I still be able to make my payments online or in-branch?

Yes, absolutely. You can continue to schedule your mortgage payments online or in-branch before and after the system conversion. After May 1, 2025, go to gardensavings.org/paymymortgage to pay online. PLEASE NOTE: PFCU will be unavailable to take in-branch payments on May 1, 2025.

  • Do I need to change my recurring payments?

No, your payments will continue to be processed without interruption.

Vehicle, Home Equity, and Personal Loan Payments from Outside Financial Institutions

  • Can I continue to use Digitial Pay to pay my PFCU loan?

After April 30, 2025, you will be able to utilize Garden Savings' Bill Matrix to pay your loan from another institution. To access this new system, view our loan payment page below. With Bill Matrix, you will be able to set reminders, schedule payments, and view payment history. Once you register to use their payment site, you avoid the $5 per transaction fee.

Pinnacle FCU Credit Cards

  • Can I continue to use my Pinnacle FCU Credit Card?

Yes. You're Pinnacle FCU credit card will continue to work. After your card expires, you will receive a new card.

  • Can I still make my credit card payments at the branch?

Unfortantely, you will no longer be able to make your credit card payment at the branch. You will need to make the payment directly with Elan Financial by https://login.elancreditcard.com.
